Individuals who wish to take a vocational route into the profession can apply to join us as a Trainee Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor. This scheme is mainly run through our UK offices.
You would study a construction related course on day-release basis, with the remainder of the week spent at work. Studying is completed on a day release basis, normally at a university or college accredited by the RICS, of your choice.
Our Trainee Surveyors join us at any time after they have completed GCSE’s, typically completing an HND/NVQ before moving on to study for a BSc in Quantity Surveying and joining our Graduate Development Scheme.
If you join us after A-levels, you would study a RICS accredited degree part-time on a day-release basis. This would typically take 5 years to complete.
In the final year of your degree you would be eligible to join our Graduate Development Scheme, with the aim of sitting your APC (Assessment of Professional Competence) 2 years later.
You will learn generic skills such as cost control, measurement, design principles, health & safety and management principles.
The advantage of this route is that you can ‘earn while you learn’. G&T can sponsor you through your necessary college and degree course and give you support to complete your studies. This provides an excellent opportunity to follow your chosen career and earn a living at the same time.
